SPORT, TEAM AND COMPETITIVE KITING

PORT

might not be the word you think of

when considering kiteflying. But it will take at least 20 to 30 hours of practice a week to stand any change of becoming World Champion; a good physical condition, lots of knowledge about equipment, wind etc.!
And surprised there are World Championships? In 1998 they have been held for the nineth time! There are championships in most west-european countries, in United States, Japan, Australia. And European championships of course.

But most important of all: like in most other sports, it is done for the fun of it!
EAM ?

Yes there are teams who fly kites together.

But the most important "team" is STACK itself. STACK has been founded in 1988 as an association for sport kite flyers all over the world.

With over 600 members in over 15 countries it is not the largest, or even the most wide spread kiting organisation. But it still is the only international association specifically for sport kite flyers.

ND

there is a lot more, more than you might think of

So have a look!. Navigating through these pages is done best by using the itemlist in the lower rigth frame. Click on the STACK logo to go back to the top of the list. For those who use a "frame-less" browser: click here

If you want a quick look at a specific compulsory figure (without keeping a full bookmark list on all): all compulsory-pages have the same format: an i, p, t (for individual, pair and team figure) followed by the number and of course the extension .htm. For quad figures use q, qp and qt respectively.

Click here for the List of compulsory figures.

OMPETITIVE

kite-flying is what STACK organises.

It takes flyers, organisers, judges, sponsors and of course public to have good events.

Click here for a list of events in this season.

ITING

is the "basic interest" of our members.

If you know sport kite flying, but like to know more about STACK try the introduction.

If you are new to sport kite flying, that is (competitive) flying with steerable kites, check the page for new members (yes, we would like you to join inmediately!), which will give you some information and references on the subject.

Most of these pages are still "under construction". Replacement/ introduction rate is about 1 page a day, or -more convinient for me- about 5 a weekend.

Where necessary you will find copyright notes and other information about whether documents can be used ONLY for yourself or that they may be published freely.

All documents on this site are latest, official versions (as far as I know)

My purpose is to have as much information possible about STACK available for everybody

So please e-mail any comments, critics, ideas, additions to pr-stack@knoware.nl
