"In" is called when the kite is at ^0<80, resting on a wingtip in a "standing" position. After 50% vertical flight the kite turns 90 counter clock wise (c.c.w.) and enters the 'eight' figure, flying backwards. The diameter of each arc is approximately 30% with the bottom of the 'eight' at ^20. The point where the two straight lines intersect is at ^50 height. The kite "leaves" the 'eight' figure at ^50<80, the same point where it entered, after again performing a 90 c.c.w. turn. "OUT" is called after the kite travels downwards vertically, has landed on a wingtip and is still "standing".
